Accessibility Statement

Last updated: June 16, 2026

Our Commitment

The Hit Cartel, LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all people, including individuals with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to music, culture, and the business of artistry. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to achieve this goal.

We recognize that accessibility is not a one-time project but an ongoing commitment. Our team regularly reviews, tests, and updates our digital properties to ensure they remain accessible and usable for the widest possible audience.

Accessibility Standards

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. The Hit Cartel strives to conform to level AA of the WCAG 2.1 guidelines as the minimum standard for all our digital properties.

Our conformance status is assessed against the following guidelines:

  • WCAG 2.1 Level A: All Level A success criteria are met or in active remediation.
  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA: This is our target conformance level. We actively work to meet all Level AA success criteria, including sufficient color contrast, resizable text, keyboard accessibility, and screen reader compatibility.
  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act: We endeavor to comply with the accessibility standards set forth in Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act, as applicable.
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): We are committed to providing equal access to our goods, services, and facilities in both physical and digital environments.

Keyboard Navigation

Our Site is designed to be fully navigable using only a keyboard. All interactive elements — including links, buttons, forms, and navigation menus — are accessible via the Tab key and operable using standard keyboard shortcuts.

  • Tab order follows a logical sequence that matches the visual layout of the page
  • Focus indicators are clearly visible with high-contrast gold outlines on all interactive elements
  • Skip links are provided to allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive navigation and jump directly to main content
  • No functionality is dependent on mouse-only gestures or hover states for core interactions
  • Modal dialogs and form submissions can be activated, operated, and dismissed using only the keyboard

Screen Reader Compatibility

The Hit Cartel Site is built using semantic HTML and ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) landmarks to ensure compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies, including but not limited to JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.

  • All images include descriptive alt text that conveys meaningful information
  • Form inputs are properly associated with labels using the HTML for/id attribute pairing
  • Icon-only buttons and interactive elements include aria-label attributes for context
  • Page regions are marked with landmark roles (header, main, nav, footer) for easy navigation
  • Headings follow a logical hierarchy (h1 through h6) to create a meaningful document outline
  • Status messages and dynamic content updates use aria-live regions where appropriate
  • Language of the page is declared as English (lang="en") for proper pronunciation by screen readers

Visual Design and Color Contrast

We have carefully crafted our visual design to balance aesthetic impact with readability and accessibility.

  • Color Contrast: Body text meets or exceeds the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard of 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text. Gold accent text and interactive elements are designed to be distinguishable against the dark obsidian background.
  • Text Resizing: The Site supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. Text sizes are specified in relative units (rem) to respect user preferences.
  • Color Independence: Information is never conveyed by color alone. Interactive states, error messages, and status indicators use icons, labels, and text in addition to color.
  • Motion and Animation: Animations are subtle and do not flash more than three times per second. We respect the user's system preference for reduced motion via the prefers-reduced-motion media query.

Responsive and Mobile Accessibility

The Hit Cartel Site is fully responsive and optimized for access on mobile devices, tablets, and desktops.

  • Touch targets (buttons, links, form inputs) meet a minimum size of 44 by 44 CSS pixels
  • Viewport scaling is enabled, allowing users to zoom and pan on mobile devices
  • Responsive layouts reflow content without horizontal scrolling at viewport widths down to 320 CSS pixels
  • Mobile navigation menus are accessible via screen readers and operable with assistive touch technologies

Accessible Forms

Our contact and booking forms are designed with accessibility as a core requirement:

  • All form fields have visible, persistent labels positioned above the input
  • Required fields are indicated both visually and programmatically
  • Error messages are clearly associated with the relevant field using aria-describedby
  • Form validation provides clear, actionable guidance on how to correct errors
  • Select dropdowns and custom controls are fully operable via keyboard and screen reader

Audio and Video Content

The Hit Cartel is a music industry business, and our Site may include audio clips, music previews, and video content.

  • All video content includes accurate captions or transcripts where applicable
  • Audio content is accompanied by textual descriptions or lyrics when relevant to comprehension
  • Media players are keyboard-accessible and provide visible controls for play, pause, volume, and captions
  • Autoplay is avoided; media does not play automatically without user initiation

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, there may be some limitations. The following are known areas under active remediation:

  • Third-party embedded content (such as streaming widgets or social media feeds) may not fully conform to WCAG standards. We work with vendors to encourage accessibility improvements.
  • Legacy content or archived press materials may not yet meet current accessibility standards. Upon request, we will provide accessible alternatives.
  • Some decorative visual effects (particle animations, audio visualizers) are purely aesthetic and do not convey essential information. These are marked with aria-hidden where appropriate.
